Logging in with two factor authentication (2FA)
After providing your user name and password, you will be asked to enter the two-factor authentication PIN. It is mandatory to set this up, on behalf of UWV-STAP requirements.
2FA requires an app on your smartphone or tablet, that can be downloaded and installed for free from Google Play or IOS App Store. A trusted and tested example of a 2FA-app is Google Authenticator. It is recommended to use this app, as our Support people use this app en can provide you with some support.
To set up this app you must follow these steps once (in this example Google Authenticator is used):
1. Download a two factor authentication app, like Google Authenticator, on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Fill in an e-mail address and activate "Trust this device" to prevent it from popping up every time you log in.
3. Click the button.
4. A pop up window with a QR-code appears. Sometimes you have to wait for it (max 1 minute). Open the Google Authenticator app and tap the coloured plus sign at the bottom. Choose scan QR code and scan the QR code with your handheld's camera. On your screen a six-digit PIN code will appear. Enter this code and click Validate PIN.
5. A notification appears that the Google Authentication is activated. Close and refresh the page.
The next time you log in you may be asked to provide the 2FA PIN code. You must open the app and copy the PIN code into the input field.
Congratulations, you are logged in!
